The Natural by Bernard Malamud
In my book, The Natural, by Bernard Malamud, if I could offer the main character Roy one piece of advice, it would be to forget about Bump’s death, because it wasn’t really his fault. Bump was a good ball player when he wanted to be, but he never really tried, especially in the field. After Roy came to the team, Bump had to really start playing to keep his starting position. So Bump then began to make amazing plays on both offense and defense. On one play, there was a very long fly ball towards center field, and Bump, even though he was the left fielder, ran after the ball. He did this to impress the coaches, fans, and especially Memo, the woman who he loved. He reached up, and made a spectacular catch, but went crashing through the outfield wall. Bump went to the hospital, and died a few days later. As stated on page 83, some people, like Memo, were blaming Roy for the death of Bump. They said that if Roy had never joined the league, Bump wouldn’t have felt obliged to catch the ball. I would tell Roy that it was in no way his fault, and to not listen to Memo and all the other people who told him that it was his fault.

Great Expectations
Charles Dickens
In my book Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character Philip Pirrup (a.k.a. Pip), it would be this- to realize that some people don't want to be rich and famous. That they are happy where they are and that just because he has an oppurtunity to become rich, he shouldnt think that everyone wants to be like him. I would offer this advice because on page # 151-153 Pip becomes rich by an anonymous source and he thinks his life is going to be so much better because he's rich. His friend Biddy and his sisters husband Joe try to tell him money isn't everything but Pip doesn't listen. Being rich doesn't make you happy, his friends try to tell him. Its family, friends, and the things you have good in your life that make you happy. Hopefully, later on in the book Philip Pirrup (a.k.a. Pip) learns that money isn't everything and will go on being happy without money.

Peak Survival by Pam Withers
In my book, Peak Survival by Pam Withers, if I could offer the main character Pete one piece of advice, it would be that when you are with your friends, everything shouldn't be about competition. It should be about having fun together and getting better at the sport you play. As stated on page 1I can tell that Pete and his friend always have competiton with the things they are doing. These things are snowboarding and skiing. On page 1,the books states, Jake shrugged, smiled, and broke into a fast walk. He knew his hyped up friend would win the sprint. For Pete, every moment was a do-or-die competition. I can relate to this because I am a very competitive person and I like to win. This is a problem because when me and my friends should be having fun I always try my hardest and go for a victory when I should just be having fun. As the years passed, I've stopped being so competitve with my friends.

Scorpia
Anthony Horowitz
In my book Scorpia, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character Alex, it would be this don’t let your parents divorce bother you. I would offer this advice because on page # 16 it says his parents were going through a messy divorce. When Alex is on a mission, his feelings could interfere with his concentration and could be very risky. Also another piece of advice is to not feel bad because it wasn’t your fault and there is nothing you can do.

Miracle on 49th street by: Mike Lupica
In my book Miracle on 49th street, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character Josh, it would that he should always suspect that when someone comes up to him, he could know them and he shouldn’t give them the pro sports player attitude. I would offer this advice because on page 12 Josh realizes that the girl that came up to him in the parking lot is his daughter. Josh finds out that she came to find him and tell him that her mom and his girlfriend from college has died from cancer. By jumping to conclusions and thinking that molly was just another fan trying to get an autograph, he felt like an idiot to find out that she was his daughter that was just trying to tell him some bad news. Now his daughter probably sees him as an unfriendly person who acts as if he likes his fans just when the cameras are on. This is a very good example of the old quote, “First impressions last a life time.” Now he has to take more time and pretty much start over with his daughter to show her that he really is a good guy. This shows that you know know what could happen, you shoul;d always think about how you act before you act.

An Abundance of Katherines
by John Green
In my book, An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character, Colin Singleton, it would be this: that he should not become so ill with depression over a girl. He is only in highschool and one should not consume themself so deeply in one person when they have so much left of their lives to meet someone they can truely fall for. Also, Colin should attempt dating a new girl who doesn't go by the name Katherine. I cannot comprehend why it is that Colin has chosen to date nineteen girls with the name Katherine when all of them have left him with nothing other than a broken heart. I would offer this advice because on page number seven, Colin speaks of the physical and emotional suffering that he is dealing with over, yet, another Katherine.

Mr. Brannigan
Perfect By Sara Shepard
In my book "Perfect", if I could offer one piece of advice to the main characters, Spencer, Aria, Emily and Hanna, it would be this- to file a report on whoever A is. I would offer this advice because in chapter 17 the four girls begin realizing that if "A" does spill their deep secrets, its possible it can threaten their lives as well. Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily have experienced some horrible things through out their lives. Now with their best friend Allie dead they are finding it harder and harder to keep the secrets hidden. The mysterious person known to them as "A" claims to know all about the stuff the girls have been through. "A" sends messages and emails as well as leaving notes for the girls saying if they dont do what she says she will tell everyone about their secrets. When Emily suggested that she would tell the police about "A", "A" sent her a warning. Emily originally decided against the idea but is now reconsidering. The other girls, Aria, Hanna and Spencer know that they shouldn't tell anyone about "A" cause of the possibility of him or her telling the secrets.

Splinter Cell:Fallout
By Tom Clancy
In my book, Splinter Cell, if I could offer one peice of advice to the main character Fisher, it would bethis- to make sure that there is no one on the second floor of Legard's house. I would offer this advice because on page #75 he doesn't check the second floor he bypasses it and goes right up to the third. Knowing Legard he has a cuople of guys on that floor because his has people outside and on the first floor. And if he hills Leagrd he might have to go back past that floor because he is so high up. He might not be able to repel down the side of the house because he alredy used his grapple to get over the wall around Legard's house. If this mission is a failure Grimsdotter (Fisher's boss) will not be too happy with Fisher. Especially for a mistake like that. Fisher better be careful not to alert any of Legard's guards.

Heaven
Angela Johnson
In my book, Heaven by Angela Johnson, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character Marley, it would be this- try to be a good friend to Shoogy. Shoogy seems to be going through a tough time with her family. On page 16, Shoogy explains how she is different from the rest of her family. They all have perfect heads and perfect teeth and the only thing they are ever concerned about is themselves. Shoogy had learned to deal with it until her parents pull into the driveway with a brand new car. She didn’t even know about it. So now Shoogy isn’t really talking to her family. As Shoogy’s friend I think Marley has to help her during this difficult time. Her family is falling apart and now is the time for Marley to be a friend to Shoogy.

Fire Bell in the Night
Geoffrey Edwards
In my book Fire Bell in the Night, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character John, it would be this: to make sure to be careful when dealing with the citizens of Charleston. I would offer this advice because on page number 92, Mr. Woodridge, who is another northern reporter, recounts witnessing a black man getting hung. This shows that the southerners are very aggressive and cruel, and do not treat people who are different kindly. Also, on page number 99, a fire is discovered in a building. This fire was set by certain people in Charleston because they are unhappy with the events that are occurring. These people are willing to do anything to try and make things the way they once were, and attacking the northern reporter John may help this. Finally, on page 103, John tells Samuel to be careful when trying to retrieve information for him. John should take his own advice, but since he is trying to put togetherh a great report, he may forget the dangers. John should try his best to be careful during his investigation.

“The Eyes of the Dragon” by Stephen King
In my book “The Eyes Of the Dragon” by Stephen King, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character Roland, it would be this – Calm down, you aren’t a bad king. Anyways look there were kings like Henry, or Dracula or Ivan the Terrible, in fact when you die and the new king comes... the people of Delain, would wish that you will comeback, because the other king of course wants power, and you want to help the people. I would offer this advice because on page # 6-10, it mentions how much he wants to become more wanted, more liked, more appreciated… he wants to be known as the great king of Delain, but the people of Delain care more about his wife (the queen) than him. He is not hated but he is not liked also. He wants to do something big but he’s only got about 1-3 years until he will die. Well…anyway I just started the book today and I didn’t get that far.

Flawless
by Sara Shepard
In my book, Flawless, if I could offer one piece of advice to the main character Hanna, it would be this –Think about what you’re doing before you do it. I would offer this advice because on page # 31 Hanna is getting in trouble for stealing at Tiffany and crashing her ex boyfriend’s car. Hanna only did these things because at the time she was frustrated and not thinking straight. If Hanna had thought about the consequences of these actions she most likely would not have done them. If she did not do these things Hanna would have avoided a lot of confrontation with her parents and the police. I believe that Hanna really is smart. She should know that she is doing something wrong. I think if I could talk to her and give her this piece of advice she would make a much better decision. I know Hanna is truly a goodhearted girl and she is only trying to be something she is not. She needs to use her brain and realize what is really important to her. Hanna definitely needs to use my advice and think before she acts.

Charmed Thirds
Megan Mcafferty
In my book, Charmed Thirds, by Megan Mccafferty, if I could offer the main character, Jessica, one piece of advice, i would tell her to not give up completly on Marcus, but she shouldn't let trying to get him back control her life. After telling Marcus that she cheated on him, Marcus goes on a journey, where there is no use of phones, computers, or any other kind of communication. This only makes Jessica suffer. She thinks about him all the time. This soon takes its toll on her grades, which slowly start to sink. If she didn't worry about being with Marcus so much, she would be doing a lot better in school. I think that if she stops obsessing over Marcus, things will just fall into place. She should work harder to fix her grades.

Among the imposters
Margaret Petrerson Haddix
In my book Among the imposters, if Icould offer one piece of advice to the main character Luke, it would be this try not to act so different than everyone else. I would offer this advice because on page #42 Mr. Talbot tells him to blend in, instead of listening to his warning he kind of gets really mad because he expected more advice. I think this is a good piece of advice because he acts a little to aware and concius of the things around him (everybody else in the school is autistic or has a mental problem). I would also tell him that Mr. Talbot is not laughing at him and the only reason he did not listen to you was because you called him at 3 am.

Pretty Little Liars Flawless
Sara Shephard
In my book, Flawless, by Sara Shephard, if I could offer the main character Spencer some advice, it would be to start telling the truth, and not doing things behind peoples backs. Spencer has an older sister Melissa who is a straight A student. Spencer is lazy and in a hurry one night and decides to use Melissa's essay from the past for an assignment. When Spencer got it back, she found out she was nominated for The Golden Orchid, an essay contest and it was really her sisters essay. Spencer's family soon finds out that its really Melissa's essay and Spencer's problem did not get solved. Spencer also has a bad habit of getting involved with Melissa's boyfriends and love life. Spencer hooks up with Melissa's boyfriends and again gets in trouble. Spencer has to start being a little bit more truthful and not so easy to get to and maybe her family will appreciate her more.

Tuesdays with Morrie
Mitch Albom
In my book, Tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom, if i could offer the main character Morrie one piece of advice, it would be to try and think less of the fact that hes dying and still try and live his life to the fullest. I would give him this advice because mabye if he thought less of the fact that he was dying and thought about living more he might have a better time. I think he worries too much about depending on people. In one part of the book, (page 49) Morrie said, "It's the ultimate sign of dependency. Someone wiping your bottom." I think that Morrie is worrying about depending one people because he doesn't want people to have to help him. I feel that this advice will be helpful because it might help Morrie live the rest of his life easier and for him to enjoy it more.
