The Natural by Bernard Malamud
As of reading this, I would not recommend the book, The Natural, by Bernard Malamud, because it is sometimes confusing and hard to follow. There were also instances where the author wouldn’t explain certain things. Like in the very beginning, on page 15, he tells a sportswriter that Roy was like his son, but never explained how they met, or really anything about him, except that he was a drunken, former major-league catcher. Also, on pages 106-107, I was unable to understand what was happening. It seemed like Roy was doing magic to pay Gus, the famous bookie, the six hundred dollars that he owed him. At first, Roy pulled on the man’s nose and silver dollars began to fall out. But then, Roy went to the Max Mercy, the sports writer for the newspaper, and pulled a dead fish out of his mouth. He then proceeded to pull random things out of other people, and his skin began to change colors. I did not understand the whole part of the book. I do not understand why Roy’s awards and records were going to be dropped and he was to be thrown out of the league because he was shot when he was younger. On page 231, it said that Max had just discovered why Roy didn’t play when he was younger, and the baseball commissioner threw him out of the league and dropped his records. I did not understand this, and I did not like the book.

Perfect
Sarah Dessen
As of this reading, I would recommend the book "Perfect" by Sarah Dessen, because it shows that at some point, your past will revisit you. One example is on page 156, when Spencer had a flashback memory. It was a memory of her best friend, Ali, who was now dead, it was dramatic but gave the book a lot of voice. Another example is on page 174, while the search for Ali's killer is still all over the news. Hanna was flipping through channels and came across a video clip from the summer Ali went missing. It hit her really hard and called all the other girls that were in the video. They gathered at their old spot, talked through it, and " remembered the good times."

Miracle on 49th Street By:Mike Lupica
As of this reading, I would not recommend the book Miracle on 49th Street, by Mike Lupica because I felt that the book kind of skipped around a little, going from talking to one person and all of a sudden talking to another person and the 1st person kind of disappeared, almost like in the middle of a conversation. The author tells the reader that the first person left, but it kind of came out of nowhere, I would have liked an explanation for why he just left. On page 18, Josh and Molly are having an important conversation, then Molly tells him the reason for something, Josh answered back, got in his car and just left. Another reason why I would not recommend it is because at one point it seemed to get confusing, it almost made no sense. On page 15, after Molly had told Josh some very important info on her mom, that Josh didn’t know, in the middle of Molly’s sentence, Josh decided to scream out no and he called her a liar. It made no sense because she was already done telling him what she had to tell him and it was done and over it, he said she was lying even after he acted as if he believed her. Again, this is another thing that I think the reader should of some how told or hinted to the reader why he did what he did.

Fire Bell in the Night
Geoffrey Edwards
As of this reading, I would recommend the book Fire Bell in the Night, by Geoffrey Edwards, because it has an interesting plot line. For example, on page 26-28, some of the slaves go and murder the owners of the plantation. This was unexpected due to the fact that the slaves didn't seem violent. It also caused the whole town of Charleston to be fearful, making the story more interesting. Another example is on page 34 when the first reporter, Simpson, is run over by a wagon. It is unknown why he was run over and it leaves a mystery to be solved. The last example is on pages 99-100. In this section, John awakes in the middle of the night during the event of a fire. The fire could have been set by anyone, and John will have to investigate to figure out whom. These examples show that the plot makes this is a great book to read.

Great Expectations
Charles Dickens
As of this reading, I would recommend the book Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, because this book has a very interesting story line and has very interesting characters that have their own individual details and ideas. This book has a very important moral in it. The moral is money isn't everything and u don't need money to be happy and have a good life. The first four chapters in the Great Expectations shows the moral and the story line and how each character is going to affect the book. So i would recommend this book.
Michael Gargiulo
Scorpia
Anthony Horowitz
As of this reading, I(would recommend the book Scorpia, by Anthony Horowitz, because It is very exciting. Such as on page 6 it talks about Alex, the main character, who is after this eco terrorist group named Scorpia. Scorpia is responsible for one tenth of the world’s terrorism. It also caused two governments to collapse. In addition, this is a good book because Alex travels around the world. First, the book starts in England. Then on page 23, Alex is after the terrorists in Venice. He travels around the world to where ever there are attacks by Scorpia. Therefore, I would recommend this book.

Saving Zoe by Alyson Noel
As of this reading, i would recommend the book Saving Zoe by Alyson Noel because it can be very meaningful. In this book, Echo's older sister gets killed by a predator on an online website, after they had planned to meet. Echo doesn't know it, but she is more alike than her sister than she thinks. She meets her sisters boyfriend, and he gives her Zoe's diary, explaining that she would be able to get to really know her sister from it. on page 28, Zoe's old boyfriend explains that Echo "didn't know the whole person" of Zoe. after beginning to read the diary, Echo realizes that Marcus, Zoe's boyfriend, was right. Echo soon begins to realize that there was more to her sister than just a creative mind, and a love for writing. her sister was a deeper person than anyone would have thought.

Perfect by Sara Shepard
As of this reading, I would recommend the book Perfect, by Sara Shepard, because it is exciting and filled with drama. You can really get into this book and it keeps you hooked. On page 19, Spencer is nominated for the Golden Orchid award because of her amazing economics essay. This is not good news for her because she had copied that essay from one that her sister wrote years ago. Spencer does not want to get too deep into this mess. I can’t wait to find out how she deals with this problem. On page 35, Naomi is teasing Hanna about her bulimic problem. Hanna is afraid Naomi will tell people about this problem. I am excited to see what happens if Hanna is exposed because it will change her world forever. Overall the book Perfect is amazing and easy to relate to. It keeps you wanting to read more and more.

Heaven
By Angela Johnson
As of this reading, I would not recommend the book Heaven, by Angela Johnson, because the story is kind of difficult to understand and it’s hard to tell where each event is taking place. In the beginning of the story, page 6, Marley is explaining where she lives. She says, “In Heaven there are 1,637 steps from my house to the Western Union”. Since “Heaven” is the name of the book I can’t figure out if she is talking about Heaven or a town called Heaven. This issue has caused me to have difficulties understanding the rest of the story. The author also skipped around in this book, talking about one thing and then about another. On page 20 Marley was talking to Uncle Jack about the list of code words that Uncle Jack wanted her to use when money was wired at The Western Union. Then, on page 22, the author talks about a man named Bobby Morris and his baby, Feather. I wish the author went into better detail about who Bobby Morris was and what he had to do with the story. Hopefully the story gets better from here but so far I would not recommend this book.

Among the impostors
Margaret Peterson Haddix
As of this reading I would recommend the book Among the imposters, by Margaret Peterson Haddix, because it is a fascinating story with a captivating plot. One example is on page 77 when Luke is sneaking through the school looking for a telephone to call Jens' dad on. It was very climactic and was one of the most thrilling parts of the book. Another exampple is on page 39 when luke was sneaking out of the school to get some air. He did this many times and was never caught. Everytime he snuck out the author managed to make it new and exiting each time.
Mark Brunner
Splinter Cell
By Tom Clancy
As of this reading I would recommend the book Splinter Cell:Fallout, by Tom Clancy, because it has alot of really cool scenes that are described when the main character, Sam Fischer is in combat and going after people. As on page 52, where Fischer first scopes out Aldic Legard's residence and his acres of land. Also on page 60, where Fischer checks to makes sure he has everything he needs to break into Legard's home. It tells you everything that Fischer needs, how it works and what he will be using it for. If you like a good action book that involves special op combat in it than this is the book for you.

Pam Withers
Peak Survival
As of reading this, I would recommend this book, Peak Survival, by Pam Withers to people who love the outdoors and love to heli-ski and snowboard. Snowboarding is one of my favorite sports so I enjoy reading about it. This book is very realistic about the snowboarding and heli-skiing scenes in the book. This book shows how it is to be cold, hungry and injured on an alpine enviornment. This book would be for guys and girls that like to read about adventures. It''s about teens who get caught in a bad situation and them finding the composure to survive. So if you enjoy sporty adventurous thrillers than this book will be perfect for you.

Midnight
Dean Koontz
As of this reading, I would recommend the book Midnight, by Dean Koontz because it is a very interesting book and it keeps you guessing. Right now in the book another side character Nella is being injected with a golden fluid. This fluid will make her undergo the ‘Change’ as exclaimed by the doctor. Pg 70. The change right now im guessing is what might be turning the town into those monstrosities that are murdering the unchanged people. But this is just a speculation that I have as of now. Another reason why anyone should read this book is another side character by the name of Harry. Harry is a Vietnam Vet and his legs and left arm are paralyzed. Now he spends his time observing the town and its inhabitants. He watches them with his powerful telescope. One night of his watching he see’s a neighbor get choked by her husband and a doctor and then rushed upstairs to her bedroom. He then see’s her get thrown onto her bed and injected by a needle containing an amber fluid. Pg 81. I believe that she is being changed also but those are just my inferences on what I have read so far. I think anyone who enjoys a suspenseful and exciting read would enjoy this book.

Pretty Little Liars Flawless by Sara Shephard
As of this reading, I would definetly recommend the book Pretty Little Liars, by Sara Shephard, because it is an awesome book to read, and very hard to put down. Pretty Little Liars is a series of books for teenagers that draw you in and make it unable for you to put down. I enjoyed this book as well as many of my friends because it has a bit of a teenage drama/ mystery twist. In this story the lives of 4 girls get split up when their best friend Ali dies. (pg.13) The whole story is a playback of their lives, one by one and a quest to figure out "who killed ALI?" (pg. 165) I think other teenagers will think this is a good book because it isn't boring. This book is also a great choice because it's easy to relate to, read it and you will find out !
Dainius Sidlauskas
As of this reading, I would recommend the book The Eyes of the Dragon, by Stephen King because it is interesting, intense, detailed and it isn’t confusing like most books that are big. Its like a history of a country that doesn’t exist, pretty interesting for me. On page 7, it starts off with it talking about a nation or kingdom called Delain. It names all of its kings, wars, and its lifestyle. The history ends at King Roland, and this is where the story begins about “The eyes of the Dragon”. It’s like present time. At page 41-45 it talks about a fight that Roland and a Dragon had, it was intense detailed, and the funny thing is that I didn’t find it confusing and if I don’t find it confusing then no one will. Now since I didn’t read much I can’t tell much. I am only on page 63.
As of this reading, I would recommend the book Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer, because it is a great book. The book is crazy. On page 50 it talks about a place that that the main character Chris Mcandless stayed. The place was called Oh-My-God Hot Springs. This is a place in which people go to get away. Chris lived here for a short time during his travels. There are crazy hippies that live there, "Charles Manson look-alikes" and, people walking around naked all day! these people lived out of there vehicles. Another reason why I recommend reading this book is because on page 56 there is a letter that Chris writes to his friend. this letter is about what Chris plans on doing and also about how he thinks that people should live on the edge. Cris tells the man in the letter that he should live like him. Chris thinks that his friend needs to get away from his boring life and do something adventurous, something crazy. I thought that this letter was inspiring. And the fact that it is an actual letter because this book is based on a true story is even more inspiring.

An Abundance of Katherines
by John Green
As of this reading, I would not recommend the book An Abundance of Katherines, by John Green, to anyone who may not be mature, such as any child under the age of twelve. I feel this way because there are many examples throughout the sections I have read that use profanities. These words are used on pages 8 as well as 11. Also, the whole plot of the story may persuade others to take an unsupervised road trip. Taking a road trip without an adult can be very dangerous for anyone who is underage. However, so far in the story, the author does not portray the road trip to be the slightest bit dangerous. John Green has made it seem nothing less of fun and exciting when, in reality, a road trip can very easily be proven life threatening.

Tell Me Your Dreams
Sidney Sheldon
As of this reading, I would not reccomend this book,Tell Me Your Dreams, Sidney Sheldon, because the book is a extremely slow, a boring read and is very difficult to follow at points. One of the many slow parts were in chapter 3. "Alette Peters was twenty-one years old. She could be plain looking, attractive or stunningly beautiful,"(p27). After this statement the book goes on for many pages just talking about how beautiful she was. on page 301 there was an extremely boring part. ""you dont like her." "in spades." "What don't you like about her?" There was a pause. "She tries to keepeverybody from having fun. If i didn't take over once and a while our lives would be boring. BORING."" This was totally irrelevant to the story and drew out the story more then it already was. One part that was hard to follow was the trial of Alette Peters/Ashley Patterson. During the trial on page 216 the prosecution is asking a witness about the woman on trial and the prosecuter asks,"What was her name?" "Alette Peters." "Alette Peters, are you have the right name?"" I didn't know what was going on was this guy confused about who was on trial? I dont really know. That is just one of many confusing and odd parts. If you were following the book carefully and take notes then you might enjoy this book. But, for the average reader this bok is not for you.

Tuesdays with Morrie
Mitch Albom
As of reading this, I would recommend the book, Tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom, Because it teaches good life lessons. The book is about an old college professor that has a fatal disease and instead of sitting around and dying, Morrie lives the rest of his life. All though its much harder to live because he is paralized from his waist down. Morrie can't do many of the things he use to be able to do, most of the time he has to have the help of another person. On page 11, Morrie looses the ability to go to the bathroom without the assistance from another person. In another part of the book, Morrie looses the ability to get in and out of bed himself. At this point Morrie is relying on people alot. Another time Morrie is sitting at dinner and his food comes out of his mouth because he got to exhauseted to chew his food. Even with these things happeneing Morrie still lives his life.
