Splinter Cell " Checkmate"
By David Michaels

As of this reading, in my book Splinter Cell "Checkmate" I have learned the following lesson, Live your life to the fullest because you never know when it is going to end. I think that I can apply this lesson to my own life because I live my life very cautiously. I allways think of the worse possible things that could happen to me. If I live my life to the fullest my life, I think, would be alot more fun. In my opinion my life is really boaring, if I follow this lesson there is no telling what I could do.

Goal 2 Living the Dream
Robert Rigby

As of this reading in my book Goal 2 Living the Dream, I have learned the following lessons think before you talk and look before you leap. I can apply these lessons to my life because they are very good lessons and have very good meanings and would benefit my everyday life. The lessons behind the words are the same concept but deal with different actions. In the book, Santiago constantly gets in trouble off the field and sometimes on it with the referee because he does not think about the words he is saying. This could also apply to me because sometimes I am accused for saying the wrong things. If I could only think about my words and thoughts before saying them could have avoided a situation completely, Santiago and I have the same problem. Santiago and I also do not look before we leap, sometimes we both overlook it. It is the same concept but this has to do with your actions not your speaking abilities. I have many times injured myself from not looking ahead or making any precautions. In the book, Santiago does not take in the risk of playing full contact soccer in his basement and he breaks his leg. This is what Santiago and I have in common the abilities to not think very well. Now I take these facts into consideration and turn it around I will think before I speak and look before I leap.

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
By Jules Verne

As of this reading, in my book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, I have learned the following lesson. Never think that the worst can not happen, because in the book Professor Arronax and a crew of men set out on a journey to capture a giant creature called the Narwhal. During their adventure the Narwhal destroys the Professor's ship, the Narwhal is actually a submarine. The captain of the ship Nemo, captures them and keeps them hostage.
I think that I can apply this lesson to my own life because I used to be fearless when I was young, but then i started getting hurt a lot, so I stopped being so fearless and started living my life a little safer.

The Lovely Bones
By: Alice Seabold

As of this reading in my book,"The Lovely Bones," I have learned the following lesson, think before you act. That lesson can apply to my life because there are some days when I say something before I think about it and I accidentaly hurt who I love. To live always speaking what is on your mind is absolutely great, but there are always disadvantages to being a loud mouth. As a reference in the book, there are times where the mourning family puts down eachother because of their daughters loss. You don't realize that you hurt someone until the "karma" comes back to you. I believe in "what goes around comes around." That phrase deffinetly ties in with think before you act. Karma is just the "payback" you recieve.

The Red Kayak
By Priscilla Cummings

As of this reading in my book Red Kayak, I have learned the following lesson. I would never let any of my friends influence me to lie, do harmful damage to someone’s property and ultimately sit back and watch someone take a risk because they were inexperience with was around them What I mean by all of this is in my book Red Kayak, Brady helped Digger and JT drill holes in Mr. D’Angelos kayak. At the time he didn’t think too much of it. He thought Mr. D’Angelo would take the kayak out and then it would sink and he would have to swim to shore. That awful cold dreary storm that was coming that morning the three of them saw the red kayak in the water. That’s when it hit Brady. He wanted to warn Mr. D’Angelo. He knew he should have stopped him right then and there. He knew Mr. D’Angelo didn’t realize the type of storm that was coming. Brady let his friends influence him not to do anything. Digger and JT said it was too late Brady would never be able to reach Mr. D’Angelo. Digger and JT laughed. Brady was upset with himself. He couldn’t concentrate in school that morning. He knew he was wrong and was upset with his friends because they laughed at the whole situation.
I cannot apply these lesions to my own life because I would never put myself into that kind of a situation where I know someone will get extremely hurt in the end. No friendship is worth someone else’s pain.

Through the Darkness
By: Harry Turtledove

As of this reading, in my book Through the Darkness I have learned the following lessons, war is never good, war creates destruction, and people suffer because of war. War always means destruction; towns and buildings and anything in its way is destroyed. Peoples lives are ruined, they lose their house, their possessions, and sometimes their family. Corruption starts. Whole countries start to crumble. I cannot apply these lessons to my own life because I can’t decide whether or not we go to war. I can’t stop war.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Ann Brashares

As of this reading, in my book The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I have learned the following lessons about change. I can apply these lessons to my own life because eventually in someone’s life time you will have to deal with all different changes. Carmen and Tibby both liked the way their lifestyles used to be. They both feel as if they were left behind by their families. Carmen is staying with her father for a few days. Carmen’s parents got divorced. She is staying the guest room. Carmen isn’t happy with this situation because she doesn’t want to feel as if she is a guest in her own father’s house.
As for Tibby, her family is changing there hectic unsettled lifestyles for more traditional ones. Both of these girls liked life the way it used to be.

"For One More Day"- Mitch Albom

As of this reading, in my book "For One More Day" I have learned the following lessons: My first being to spend your life wisely and have no regrets. Chick Benetto lived his life alongside alcohol and he totally neglected his mother. Now that he can't see her again after her death, obviously he is heart broken so once again like alcoholics do, he resorts to booze. Life is precious and should not be wasted. I can apply this lesson to my own life because I seek happiness. And in order to achieve happiness I need to use the different opportunities that come my way. Some may call for bravery, and some focus to succeed in. One example I can give is trying out for a sports team. In my case it's baseball. If your good at a sport, defiantly tryout for it because you have nothing to loose. Stick to what you love in your life is ultimately one of the most important lessons in my book.

Enders Shadow
by Orson Scott Card

As of this reading, in my book Enders Shadow, I have learned the following lessons, think before you speak, pay attention to others actions and also learn as much as you can. I can apply these lessons to my own life because I already have tried applying them to my daily life and find it easy. Mainly I have been working on; think before you speak. This has impacted the way I speak hugely. I find myself sounding more intelligent and allowing less room for others to catch mistakes and exploite them. I also have been trying to watch how others react to things and find any possible weakness'. This book has made me a much more observant person. I also have noticed that I am more aware of my surroundings and am much more sneaky.

I can apply these lessons to my own life because I play sports. I have to try my hardest to achieve my best. In everyday life people strive to achieve important goals. I use this lesson to do good in school, sports and be an excellent person. Sebastian never gave up, he tried his hardest and it paid off.

Tuesdays With Morrie
By Mitch Albom

As of this reading, in my book Tuesdays with Morrie.I have learned the following lessons. I learned that I can not take what i have for granted and the time that i have to live. You never know when your going to go and you have to enjoy your time on earth while you have it. Just like Morrie, he knew he was going to die and that it was going to be a hard and painful couple of years but he didnt care he didnt want people to be sad and he didnt want people to be bad for him. I can apply these lessons to my own life because things happen to me and my family everyday, tradgic things and i dont want people to feel bad beacuse we just have to deal with it and move on.

Saved

As of this reading, in my book saved I have learned the following lessons not to talk about things girls don’t care about because they won’t want to go out with you again. I can apply these lessons to my own life because… obviously to have a life you might need to talk to girls. So far that is the only thing I can apply to my life so far in this book.

As of this reading, in my book TTYL I have learned the following lessons: Not to worry so much. I can apply these lessons to my own life because I worry alot. A new school your was begining for the two best friends, Maddie and Angela. I remember my first day of school. I was so scared and I worried to much. Now that I think back it wasn't bad at all. Madison and Angela worried also. They were acutally in the same math class. The other lesson was not to base your life around one person. you need to branch out and find other friends to hangout with. Maddie and Angela are best friends but you can't rely on one person to always be there.
