Call To The Wild
Jack London

As of this reading, in my book Call To The Wild I have learned the following lesson, you have to obey orders from people you don’t like to get by. I can apply these lessons to my own life because people you don’t like will most likely be bigger or have control over your life. If you fight back you can be hurt. When you get a job and you don’t like your boss you have to obey him or her because they could fire you. Also if you are stuck in a position where you don’t like someone who is bigger or stronger than you, you have to either obey him or her or stay away from them because they can seriously hurt you. This can be your boss, a bully, or even a relative. This is something that comes up in every person’s life.

Fever 1793
Laurie Anderson

As of this reading, in my book Fever 1793 I have learned the following lessons: to not be ashamed of where you came from and to not give up in difficult times. In the book the main character is invited to a party given by a wealthy family. Since she is of a lower class, she feels out of place. However, she holds her head high and doesn't let this experience get her down. This is an important lesson to learn in life. In the second lesson the main character is confronted with the tragedy of the death of her Dad and Grandfather. For a while she even thinks that her mother may have died of yellow fever. Instead of giving up she continued to live her life in a positive way. The lesson applies even though I have never lost a close family member. However, I have still experienced some difficulties in my life which I needed to overcome. It is also important to maintain a positive attitude. The first lesson also applies to my life because I releaze that there will always be people who are wealthier and have more material things than me.

Heat by Mike Lupica

As of this reading, in my book Heat I have learned that you always have to be you and you should never let anyone change that. I can apply this lesson to my life because no matter what I do there is always someone that wants to change it. In the story the league is investigating Mike because they think he is too old. The people want a birth certificate, but he cannot get one because he was born in Cuba and his dad is dead. His dad was there only way to get a birth certificate, but people can not find out about his dad because there is no parent in their house and him and his brother do not want to be taken away. I have had to apply this lesson to my life many times in the past and probably many times to come. For example, coaches always used to tell that I couldn’t play guard because I was to big, I didn’t listen to them and now I play either guard or point guard even though I am one of the tallest kids on the team.

As of this reading, in my book Charmed Thirds, i have learned that you will lose and gain friends while going through both high school and college. i can apply these lessons to my own life. I have lost plenty of friends going from middle school to high school. It is something that every teenager will face. I know this will happen yet again because all the friends i have made in high school will probably go to different colleges than me.

Looking for Alaska
John Green

As of this reading in my book, Looking for Alaska, I have learned the following lesson: never drink and drive. In the book, Alaska was last seen upset and frantic after drinking vodka with her best friends, Pudge and the Cournel. All having been under the influence of alcohol, they aloud Alaska to get into her car and drive upset and drunk. Alaska was found the next morning, killed in a crash. Now Pudge and Cournel are left wondering why she was so upset that night. I can easily relate this to my own life situations because I, personally, have witnessed occasions where young people lose their lives by drinking while intoxicated. Many teens loose their lives on an all-too daily basis because of drinking and driving. Looking for Alaska has taught me the lesson of responsiblity and what consequences may come from foolish actions, such as drinking while driving.

Into the Wild

As of this reading, in my book Into the Wild I have learned the following lessons i learned to be prepared if I ever want to take a long trip. Also i learned to know my limits. I can apply these lessons to my own life because I like to adventure and if I ever decide to venture out on my own I know that I won't make the mistakes that Chris the main character. When Chris went on his adventure he didn't prepare himself very well. He didn't have warm clothes or anything. So I could use the lessons that I have learned from the book like being more prepared if i ever plan on going into the wild in my life.

How it's Done
by Christine Kole MacLean

As of this reading, in my book How it's Done I have learned the following lessons: your actions can result in huge consequences and you can not trust everyone you meet. I can apply these lessons to my own life because most of the time I don't think before I do something and I end up getting into a lot of trouble. If I think about the consequences of my actions I might avoid getting into trouble. I can also use the lesson you can not trust everyone you meet in my life. I usually trust people so quickly and I end up finding out that they don't deserve my trust. If I wait until I really know someone to trust them I’ll be able to figure out who I should trust. I like that I can learn lessons that can really help me in my life through a book.

The Voice of the Night
Dean Koontz

As of this reading, in my book The Voice of the Night, I have learned the following lessons: always be yourself and choose your friends carefully. I can apply the first lesson to my own life because I know that I am a unique person and I make sure that others are aware of that. For example, I always do what I feel is right regardless of the fact that others may think negatively of me. In the book, the main character named Colin tries too hard to be like his friend Roy and ends up making himself feel even worse than before. I can apply the second lesson to my life as well because I will meet many people throughout my life. I have many friends who I trust, but there could be people waiting to become my friend in order to take advantage of my friendship. In the book, Roy is friends with Colin because he can make him do anything he wants and he can insult Colin to make himself feel strong. In the end, these lessons can most likely be applied to other people's lives as well.

Summer's End
By Audrey Couloumbis

As of this reading, in my book Summer’s End I have learned that you can’t take anything for granted. In the story, Summer’s End, Grace hears about her brother Collin going off to war. She is always thinking about him and worries if he will ever return. Her mother and father have split opinions about the situation. All of this is tearing her family apart. I can relate to this situation because I have a friend who is about to join the army in a couple of days. His mom is very worried because her husband passed away a while ago and now she is afraid she will lose her only child. Even though were not related and I don’t talk to him much I still want him to come back safe. Summer’s End has taught me that you have to appreciate the things you have and to cherish the time with the people around you because it may be gone before you know it.

Splinter Cell
Tom Clancy

As of this reading, in my book Splinter Cell I have learned the following lesson, time is a very important thing. I can apply this lesson to my own life because in school if things like homework and projects are not in on time, your grade suffers. I have handed in a couple of things late and when I recieved the grade I wasn't too happy with it. Also, with jobs time is important. If your not at work on time you could be fired. Maybe not the first time it happens but, your boss sure won't be happy. Time is also important for curfews, because there has been a couple of times that I came home late and my mom wasn't exactly happy with me.

Fire Bell in the Night
Geoffrey Edwards

As of this reading, in my book Fire Bell in the Night I have learned the following lessons: that you should try not to judge others because of their background. I can apply these lessons to my own life because they can help me from acting paranoid and treating others poorly. In the book, the innocent blacks of Charleston are being murdered just because of the attack on the Smythe plantations. Also, the Charleston militiamen do not treat the New York reporter kindly just because he is from the north. Due to the fact that the people of Charleston are paranoid about the backgrounds of these people they stop treating them like human beings. This lesson teaches that judgments can eventually led to arguments. In the case of this book, these judgments led to the civil war. If people tried to follow this lesson there would be more peace in the world.

Pretty Little Liars
Sara Shephard

As of this reading, in my book Pretty Little Liars, I have learned the following lessons to not tell people your biggest secrets. I can apply these lessons to my own life because when you tell your friends (at the time) your biggest life changing secrets then in a couple of years when those same people aren't your friends anymore then your secrets could be told. In this story, the girls all tell one girl Ali there biggest secrets and then Ali gets killed. Ali is the only one who know the secrets and after her death, all of the girls get text messages and letters with hints about their secrets on them. Someone else besides Ali knows everything going on in their lives. In my life, when i tell my friends my biggest secrets, sometimes it doesnt go how i thought it would. I tell them something and then they go and tell there friends and thats how rumors start. I guess the lesson here is that you have to know who your real friends are and when to trust them and just to keep away from secrets and rumors getting around.

Tell Me Your Dreams
Sidney Sheldon

As of this reading, in my book Tell Me Your Dreams, I have learned the following lessons, You can't run away from your past. I can apply these lessons to my own life because some day I'm going to have to face someone who i was scared of as a kid or something of that nature. One day I was afraid of a rollar coaster. I can't let that affect me next time I see it. I can''t be scared to look at my ex girlfriend in the face after 5 years of being seperated. One oof these events will happen but you will have to learn to overcome them. You can't pretend stuff didn't happpen. You have to learn to in a way overwrite your past in a way. Hypethetically if I was a convict it is very probable that I would get caught so when I get caught I have to accept that and move on.

Eden Born
By Nick Sagan

As of this reading, in my book Eden born I have learned the following lessons that who have to work together to survive. Like in my book they have to start life all over and many people have different visions for rebuilding it. But at the same time the black ep is coming back. I can apply this to my life because you have too work together to get a lot of things done. Like building a house or play on a football team everyone has too work together to win.

Desperation
By Stephen King

As of the reading, in my book (Desperation), the people that were captured by the “Sheriff” as prisoners, finally escape the prison. But they do not work as a team; they split up and argue with each other, and can’t agree so they go their own way. Slowly they all get captured by the Sheriff and were killed, but some still stay alive. I have learned the following lessons that I should work with a team if I can, the more the better, and try to avoid splitting up. I can apply this to my life because a war can happen anytime and I could become a prisoner, if a plane crashes in the middle of nowhere if there are some survivors. I would have a better chance of staying alive if I have a team, more people the better, but have people that I can work with. But sometimes it isn’t just surviving, it is also for fun or whatever, for example sports, in Football you need to work together or else you will, lose/fail. The Giants won because they were using teamwork!!!!!!

The boy who saved Baseball
John H. Ritter

As of this reading, In my book The Boy who Saved Baseball I have learned the following lesson, Never give up because if you try hard enough you can achieve your goal. In this book, Tom achieves his goal by stopping the constructors from knocking down the baseball field. I can apply this lesson in my life because if you are trying to achieve your goal and you stop in the middle of it then its like your a quitter and quiters never win. Also I tried out for many teams in sports and no matter how hard the try out was I came succesfull in every try out. This lesson relates with my life in many different ways.

As of this reading, in my book Splinter Cell I have learned the following lesson, put your mind to what you believe in. You need to believe in what you do you can't just sit back and let someone else do all the work you have to put your mind to it. Also in life if you don't believe in yourself that you can do something then you won't be able to do it you have to believe you can do it. This lesson will help you in life you will become more successful in life and achieve more goals.
