dreamland by Sarah Dessen
Mr. Brannigan
In my book dreamland, by Sarah Dessen, I believe if the main character Caitlin asked for one holiday gift it would be a big picture frame. There are many reasons for Caitlin to want a picture frame. One reason is so that she can hang picture collages of Cass(her sister) and herself. She could hang it on her wall in her room so that whenever shes upset about not having Cass around anymore she can just look back on the old memories and good times. Another reason for Caitlin to want a frame is so that if Cass does come back home, Caitlin would have some kind of documentary on her life so Cass feels caught up. Lastly Caitlin would like to have a picture frame because for the past few months she has been taking a photography class with her mother. Caitlin is really starting to understand how to capture moments and "freeze time". Caitlin should feel like she can put her pictures up on display so that people in her house can see her "artwork".

Peaches-Jodie Lynn Anderson
Mr. Brannigan
In My book Peaches by Jodie Lynn Anderson, i belive if the main character Murphy asked for one holiday gift it would be a framed picture of her, and the friends she made at the peach orchard, Leeda and Birdie, with the orchard in the background. Murphy learned a lot about herself and her mother by being forced to work on that peach orchard over spring break and summer vacation. she learned that she doesn't have to keep things to herself all the time, and that the friends she made during her court sentence to the peach orchard. she also learned that there are more people in this world, who just might be in her very own school, that are more unfortunate than she is. she made better and more trustworthy friends on that orchard than she made during her 3 years at high school. i belive that a sentimental picture of her and her new made friends, where they became friends would be a great present for Murphy.

Heat by: Mike Lupica
Mr. Brannigan
In my book Heat, by Mike Lupica, I believe if the main character, Mike were to ask for one gift for the holidays, that gift would be two tickets to a Yankee game, on a day when El Grande is pitching. El Grande is Mike's hero, Mike does everything like El Grande. Mikes dream is to go to a Yankee game and watch El Grande pitch. For example, in the beginning of the book on page ten, Mike and his brother are having a conversation about how good El Grande is, but when his brother brings up buying tickets, Mike knows and said that they can't afford them. When Mike said that his brother got angry because he doesn't want Mike to think that they are completely broke. So this is why I think if Carlos, Mike's brother asks him what he wants for the holidays Mike will tell him that he wants to see El Grande pitch.

Splinter Cell by Tom Clancy
In my book Splinter Cell, by Tom Clancy, I believe if the main character, Sam Fisher, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays, that gift would be for his brother Peter to get better. Peter has a rare and contagous disease that none of his doctors are able to diagnose. Fisher didn't know about his brother's illness. Now that he does, all he is worried about is him. The doctors told fisher that his brother is not going to live much longer. He only has about three more days. Fisher is devastated by this. All Fisher wants is for his brother to get better.

The Book of Mordred by Vivian Vande Velde
Mr. Brannigan
In my book, The Book of Mordred, by Vivian Vande Velde, I believe if the main character, Alayna, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays, that gift would be for her daughter, Kiera, back from the knights that took her. They came in the early morning and knocked Alayna unconscious, killed the servant and the horses, kidnapped Kiera, and burnt the cottage to the ground. The thing that Alayna wants the most is her daughter back.

Summer's End By Audrey Couloumbis
Mr. Brannigan
In my book Summer's End, by Audrey Couloumbis, I believe if the main character Grace asked for one holiday gift it would be to have her family together again. Ever since Collin burned his draft card the whole family is breaking up. Collin ran off to live with a friend while Grace was home begging her parents to change their minds about her birthday party. In Chapter 4, page 16, Collins' daddy gets so mad and throws all of Collins stuff on the porch. Graces' mommy and daddy are constantly arguing and ignoring each other. All of the chaos causes Grace to run away to her Grandmother's farm.(Chapter 13-14) All of these reasons lead me to believe that the one gift Grace wants for the holidays is for her family to come together again.

Artemis Fowl The Eternity Code
by Eoin Colfer
In my book Artemis Fowl The Eternity Code, by Eoin Colfer, I believe if the main character, Artemis, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays, that gift would be Getting his C cube back. The c Cube is a device that can do anything you tell it to and hack any computer. Artemis Stole this from the LEP a secret race of fairies Spiro stole this device before Artemis could eliminate the evidence of the LEP. The LEP is endangered if he finds out. The text support for this is when the book says, "I’m going now continued Spiro, pocketing the C cube" Page 19. Artemis also is in a lot of trouble if the LEP finds out that he stole their technology.

The Green Mile by stephen King
In my book the Green Mile, by Stephen King, I believe if the main character Paul Edgecombe asked for one holiday gift it would be his wife. There is no hard evidence too support this theory for gift. But it is pretty obvious that he misses his wife at the end of the book. The language really shows it. Paul keeps on talking about on the last two pages of the book. Paul said it was gods fault.(535-536)
In my book Midnight, by Dean Koontz, I believe if the main character, Chrissie, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays, that gift would be another horse. I think that she would want another horse because her horse had fallen and sprained its ancle when she was trying to get away from her now deranged and creature like paretns and the scientist,pg27. After this the horse got spooked and ran off. I believe that she would want another horse so she could escape her chasers. As of now her plans on escape haven't yet become clear but she would probably need the other horse. That or at least a flashlight to see her persuers in the dead of night.

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
In my book The Outsiders, I believe if the main character, PonyBoy, asked for a holiday gift, it would be able to see his parents again. The reason I think he would want to see his parents again is because if him or either of his two brothers get into trouble with the police, they will all be separated from each other and they will never see their family again.

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shephard
Mr. Brannigan Pd.8
In my book Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shephard, I believe if the main character Spencer asked for one holiday gift, it would be a car. She would use a car to drive to her friends/boyfriends house. Her parents get into fights with her a lot and she sneaks out to go to guys houses. If she had a car, she would be able to sneak out more. She could also use a car to get to work. If she had a job, she would have money to help pay for her expensive wardrobe. The money could also be used to fix up her room. Spencer could also use a car to get to her friends houses in emergencies. Her best friend Ali died, and she had to rely on her parents to drive her everywhere. I just think that if Spencer had a car, her life would be less complicated.

In Open Ice, by Pat Hughes the charaicter Nick would want one gift more than anything. It isn't tangible either. He would wish to be able to play with his team during the championship. He would be very happy. He hopes the doctor will let him play. If it was that easy and could be wrapted that would be the greatest. All he can do is sit and wait.
