Into The Darkness
by Harry Turtledove

In my book Into The Darkness, by Harry Turtledove, I believe if the main character, Colonel Sabrino, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays, that gift would be an affectionate dragon to ride. He always complains about how dragons are stupid, unloving beasts. The dragon would actually like him and not try to flame him every time he gets on its back. Of course the dragon would need to be strong and better than all other dragons, otherwise it would be a pretty poor gift. On page 402, when Sabrino is getting on his dragon while it is trying to get away, he says that dragons are unintelligent beasts that are so stupid the only reason it doesn’t flame him is because it was trained not to since it hatched from it’s egg. He describes how unicorn, horse, leviathan, behemoth, and camel riders can show affection towards their mounts and they can form a bond between them, but dragons are all nasty creatures that only want to kill, eat, and sleep.

Splinter Cell "Checkmate"
David Michaels

In my book Splinter Cell "Checkmate" by David Michaels I believe if the main Character, Sam Fisher, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays that gift would be more comfortable seets on the Talon special ops combat jet. On page 6 he quotes " It's as if the designers went out of thier way to find the most uncomfortable seats they could find". Every night durring mission after mission Fisher adjusts over and over again to find a position were his legs an rear do not fall asleep every 2 minutes.
He goes out on the Talon every night and when he gets the opportunity to jump over 30,000 feet he is thrilled that he finally gets to strech

Enders Shadow
by Olson Scott Card

In my book Enders Shadow, by Olson Scott Card, I believe if the main charecter Bean, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays, that gift would be to command his own toon. A toon is a position in which you lead a certain amount of people depending on how many people your commander assigns. When you are assigned your group of people, you train them to do whatever tactics you think necessary. All these tactics are then used in the battleroom which is a simmulation of what the final battle, between humans and the buggers, an alien race, which the charecters in the story are led to believe will take place soon and have to prepair for. In the book on pages 242-243 Bean literally threatens his commander, Ender Wiggen, to give him a spot as a toon leader. Bean states,"I can be your best soulder, or your worst." Ender is not afraid of Beans threat and posts a challenge for Bean to complete. He has to prove himself worthy of the position, getting others respect and showing leadership in the battle room. Only then will Bean become a toon leader. My best bet is that if Bean could receive 1 gift for the holidays it would be a position as toon leader.

The Last Book in the Universe by Rodman Philbrick

In my book The Last Book in the Universe, by Rodman Philbrick, I believe if the main character, Spaz, were to ask for 1 gift for the holidays, that gift would be for his family unit back. He would ask for this because he loved his baby sister and missed her the most. In the book he tells the old gummy about her and there experiences from the day they met. But science he was allergic to brain probes his family unit kicked him out and she is all she can think about. That is why that would be the one gift he would want.

Goal Living the Dream by Robert Rigby

In my book Goal 2 Living the Dream, by Robert Rigby, I believe the main character Santiago Munez, were to ask for one gift for the holidays, that gift would be a nice big sweatshirt because his coach has been benching him repetitively and he says how bone chilling it is to be sitting on the benches or chairs. His coach has been benching him for his constant parties and not to mention him missing the plane a while back. For that reason, I would get him a big North Face sweatshirt and some pants to cover his legs instead of shorts. If I were to give him another present, it would be a release. In the book, midway Santiago breaks an ankle and his coach is keeping him on the grounds as a punishment for his bad judgment of playing to break his ankle. Santiago is given house arrest at the Real Madrid grounds so as my gift to him I would release him. Santiago fell over a bike playing with glen in the basement not the safest way to play. Roz is upset he cannot return to England for Christmas or anytime of the year an she cant go to him so they are having a phone conversation and Roz says she’s leaving him. This is explained in the 20 chapter pgs. 134-137. These are my gifts to Santiago.

Among The free
Margret Peterson Haddix

In my book among the free, by Margret Peterson Haddix, I believe if the main character, Luke, were to ask for one gift for the holidays, that gift would be a new identity card because then he could run away from the population police and try and get a new job undercover. He needs a new job undercover because he loved being a stable boy and he recently got assigned a new job in an unfamiliar place. On page 11, he says he loved his stable boy job because he grew up on a stable. He could also use a new identity card because the old ones are out dated and can be tested to make sure they are real. If Luke is found out then everyone working with him will be in danger. If everyone is in danger then all the third children in the world are because they are all hoping for the success of Luke and his friends undercover in the population police headquarters. If Luke could have any gift for the holidays I am sure it would be a new identity card.

Anne of Green Gables
L.M. Montgomery

In my book Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, I believe the main character, Anne, were to ask for one gift for the holidays, that gift would be a makeover because she is always putting herself down and calling herself homely. She also said that she feels like people are always staring at her because her only dress is hideous. I would take her shopping for new dresses that she would feel comfortable in and feel beautiful in. I want to help boost her self-esteem and make her feel that the only reason people are staring at her is because she looks amazing. I think that she would be so much happier with herself if she did get a makeover.
