The section I read today made me feel angry, because when Alayna, Mordred, and Galen were leaving Halbert’s castle, they were attacked by his knights. This was an unprovoked attack, and it caught the three by surprise, making it an unfair fight. They managed to fight off the knights, even though it was four on three. After they seemed victorious, though, an archer appeared in the doorway and shot Galen in the stomach with a crossbow. Halbert managed to save Galen, because he had not authorized the attack. Galen was alive, but he was acting strangely, like he wasn’t himself.

The section I read today made me feel angry, because when Mattie and her Grandfather finally got home (from the hospital) they saw two men robbing thier home. After all they went through they had to deal with two men stealing their stuff. But luckily Mattie was able to keep her composure and she stabbed one of the thieves. Figuring it was not worth it they ran away. It was a shame that Mattie's Grandfather had to die after fighting the robbers, especially since he had survived the fever. Mattie had to grow up in a hurry. It was interesting to read how Mattie took responsibility in her life.

Looking For Alaska
By John Green

The section I read today made me feel shocked. I had not expected Alaska, the main character of the story, to die. She was driving while intoxicated and somewhat flustered, almost like she had forgotten something. She was in a rush when leaving the dorm room that she was staying at with the ‘Coronal’ and ‘Pudge.’ Alaska had been with the two the whole night. I am left curious as to whether she left for a reason, or if it just had something to do with the intoxication. Either way, this was a shocking chapter.

Reading this section today made me feel upset because the main character, Aria's boyfriend Ezra dumped her. Aria met Ezra in a bar one day when she was really depressed. She explained her whole situation with her dad and ex-boyfriend and stuff with him. When she got back to school the next week she had a new english teacher. Aria discovered that her new teacher was Ezra. Ezra saw Aria and was immediatly shocked. Now they are fighting so that made me upset for Aria.

Reading this section today made me feel sad because people are starting to ask and get suspicious about Mike’s dad. His dad died and now him and his older brother are living alone without a parent. If someone rats on them and tells that they are living without a parent, they will be put in a foster home and maybe even split up. For example on pages 76-77 in chapter 11, Mr.Lima asks about Mike’s dad and tell him that he would like to talk to him. Mr.Lima worked for the borough president and wanted to discuss with him, his brother and his dad about how Michael stopped the robber of some women’s pocketbook. I really feel sorry for Mike because it is only a matter of time until someone rats them out and there family is ruined.

Reading this section today made me feel sad because the character Johnny was treated very poorly by Gantry. Johnny is a slave child on the Smythe plantation and was treated badly because Mrs. Smythe believed that he tried to steal a silver soup ladle. Gantry, the overseer, punished him by beating him in chapter one, page five. But then, when Johnny still claimed that he did not try to steal the ladle, he was sentenced to the box. Soon after being taken to the box, he died. This made me feel sad because Gantry did not have to give that harsh a punishment but did anyway. Also I feel bad for Jebediah because he lost a son. It is really disappointing that the slaves have to be treated like that.

Reading this section today made me feel sad, because Grace and her father are becoming less and less close each day (chapter 9, page 131). It has come to the point where they can’t even be in the same room with each other. This makes me upset because she was so close with her father when she was younger but, now they are so distant. This is all happening because Grace has fallen in love with an older man and it goes against all of her father's beliefs. He feels as if Grace is ruining her life but, obviously from Grace’s perspective things are much different. I hope that they fix things between themselves now because if they wait to long it might not ever happen. I also think that Grace needs her father in her life no matter what she says.

Reading this section today made me feel sad because both Grace (main character) and Dolly (Grace’s cousin) have brothers who are off fighting in war. Dolly is constantly thinking about her brother Willie. Dolly never wrote or talked to her brother much but once he joined the war she started to worry about him. In Chapter 18, page 79 Dolly said that she used to watch the war on T.V. Her cousin, Theo, thought that it was a show, never knowing that it was the actual war. The whole situation reminded Grace about how she felt when she heard that her brother ripped up his draft card. She realized that war was reality and that her brother Collin was going to become a part of it. I hope both Willie and Collin return home to their families safely.

The section I read today made me feel sad because it shows in the first chapter how pathetic the main character named Colin thinks he is. Colin thinks that he is so pathetic because his best friend named Roy always brags about himself. Roy also treats Colin disrespectfully far too often. Roy is liked by other people more than Colin is, which is another reason why Colin thinks so poorly of himself. Because of all this stress on Colin, he tries harder and harder to be just like Roy to relieve himself of this stress.

Reading this section today made me feel happy because Caitlin finally heard from her siter. This happened on page 258 in chapter 12. Cass called Caitlin's cellphone while she was at cheerleading practice. Cass told Caitlin to promise to not tell her mother, but said shes "safe and sound" and will probably be returning home soon. This made me happy because it forshadowed the fact that Cass will eventually come home. It also showed that some kind of adventure will be occuring in Cass's life inorder for her to get back home.

The section i read today made me feel happy for Jess. i felt happy for her because she finally quit her track team. During her sophomore and juniopr year of high school, Jess was not only on the varsity team, but one of the captains, and a very honored memeber of the track team. However, her father kept pushing and pushing her to do better. He would pick out little mistakes that would make her lose a race. He would push her to fun 1 too many miles a day. After thinking all of this over in her mind, Jess realized that she didn't enjoy track as much as she did during her early high school years. Her father sucked all the fun out of it. I was happy for her because she no longer did track for her father's enjoyment, and is now looking for something else that she herself would enjoy.

Reading this section today made me feel pity for the character because his parents know that he and his brother smoke and they don’t care. Its his brother that cares about him more than his parents and his brother says “If I catch you smoking more than one a day then ill beat you up again.” This makes me feel bad for the kids because their parents don’t care about there children’s health. In addition, the parents smoke 4 or 5 packs of cigarettes a day and that’s where they get the cigarettes.

Reading this section today made me feel, confused, because well first of all every little object is described with a lot of detail. Second, the book is huge and the letters are small so I lose my spot, a lot. Third, the author goes from one character to a complete different character for example: “As Mary goes into the cave she sees something, but is not sure what it is so she goes closer” “The cop wakes up with his a knife in his leg” “John thought to himself that he should’ve stayed with the group” “Mary gets closer then the object disappears”, what I am saying is that they should stick to one thing, it aggravates me moving to one thing to another, then I am like “Wait what just happened.” I think I will have to re-read this book, or maybe I should drop this book, but what I do understand is that the cop is losing and the people are winning so I guess I am happy!

The section I read today made me feel strangely angry. One of the women in the story Allete Peters is saaid to be able to se smell and hear colors and was quite the artist. Me, I lack any sense of artistic ability. Those abilities of seeing, hearing and smelling colors are talents that I wished I had. I am almost jealous. "Her fathers voice was blue and sometimes red."(Chapter 3 Page 29) My fathers voice is just plain noise. "The sound of running water is gray."(Page 29) All it sounds like to me is water splashing upon a surface; not a color. That is why I am angry, it is a strange anger, more of a jealousy.
